Svikiro in Shona culture is a spirit medium, a conduit to the after life and ancestors. Kasvikiro is the diminutive and is an acknowledgement of the fact that the calligraphy style of the artist  feels like an expression of thoughts, feelings and shapes being received from elsewhere.

I do not use my personal name in this work because that feels disgenuine, since the primary focus is to share African stories around mythology, cosmology, philosophy, issues of race and politics, and the colonial process. These are stories and moments inherited over tens of thousands of years that I am sharing through this visual process.

Primarily the work is expressed through a self taught calligraphy style but often steers into other media. I use my hands however I can.
